Graduate Certificates

Public Management and Leadership
This 15 s.h. certificate is open to students seeking to enhance public management and leadership knowledge and skills. Admission to the program is dependent on meeting the Graduate School’s admission requirements for certificate programs and approval of the director of the MPA program. This certificate is not open to students already enrolled in the MPA program. For further information, please contact the director of the MPA program and visit the link below.

Security Studies 
The Certificate in Security Studies program was designed to be an add-on for students taking a different Master program, but it can also be taken as a standalone postgraduate academic program and qualification. The Certificate can be completed within a year and it consists of two core courses and three elective courses from a list of electives. Students completing the Certificate can also elect to switch to the MSSS programs and all the credits received in the Certificate will be counted towards the completion of the MSSS. Economic Development
The interdisciplinary graduate certificate in economic development provides students with opportunities to develop analytical, theoretical, and practical skills for both public and private sector careers in regional, economic, and community development. The certificate is open to students enrolled in graduate degree or certificate programs. The program offers a flexible design to provide students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds with the opportunity to acquire a foundation in regional, economic, and community development while specializing in their respective areas of interest.
