I am thankful for all of the good times I have had at East Carolina. Likewise, I am grateful for everyone who has helped me get to this point. Including my family, my professors, and my friends. It is because of their support that I am able to graduate a year early. I plan to continue my education and pursue a career in law in the future.

My future plans include sitting for the bar, but I’m not sure if it will be a test or tequila in front of me. We call one useless person a disgrace, two are called a law firm, and three or more are known as Congress.

This journey has been long but worth every step of the way. When I started college in 2006 at the age of 35, the goal was to earn my bachelor’s degree.  With the support and encouragement of friends, family, and especially my husband (Melvin), two sons (Connor and Zachary), and mother (Judy), I reached my goal in 2015 but forged on to earn this master’s degree and am thankful for the opportunity.  It is not lost on me that my success has been in large part due to my mentor and friend, Melonie Bryan.  I will be forever grateful for the support she has given to me academically and professionally.
